COVID-19 TEXAS FOOD RESOURCES

“Many school districts in Texas have announced they will be closed for at least a week. School closures typically means school lunch and school breakfast are no longer available but our Texas schools are working to make food available to students during closures. The Texas Hunger Initiative is working to provide the most up-to-date information on food resources available. Visit https://www.covid19txfoodresources.org/ for updates.

In addition to school closures and student food resources, the website includes:

  • USDA + TDA Updates
    • Latest updates on current Texas Department Agriculture waivers approved by USDA
  • Share with Us Tab
    • Are your local school districts or nonprofits providing meals to families? Tell them what you know and it will be added to the site. Your name and contact information will be kept confidential and not be shared publicly.
  • I Need Help with Food Resources
    • If you do not see your community represented on this website,  call 2-1-1 or visit auntbertha.com. You are also welcome to complete the form available and they will try to connect you with resources.
  • I Want to Help Others
    • This tab has suggestions on how to assist our fellow community members during this unprecedented time.

The Texas Hunger Initiative is dedicated to assisting the community at this time by providing the most up-to-date information on food resources available to ensure everyone’s needs are being met. They need your help to carry that message to those who need it most.

Stay healthy!
